Our Mission

Benedictine is one of the most comprehensive providers of services for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism. To accomplish our mission, Benedictine offers a year-round educational program and 365 day residential program for students ages 5 to 21. Benedictine's Adult Services program encompasses community living, meaningful day, and employment services, on Maryland's Eastern Shore and in Annapolis, for adults ages 22 to 70+. Participants explore vocational interests and engage in job training to develop skills that lead to employment or volunteer opportunities with local community partners.

By approaching 'learning' as something that does not end in our school program, Benedictine instills a philosophy of lifelong learning which leads to the most productive and meaningful life possible for each person. Benedictine's future is grounded in our mission as well as our values: Hospitality, Dignity of Work and Compassionate Caring. We believe all people, regardless of ability, have the right to actively participate in their communities.
